Omel Ivan Reeves, age 70, of Pleasant Valley, Morehead, passed on to be with the Lord, Thursday, April 16, 2015. Born April 3, 1945, in Carter County, he was a son of the late Selvia and Birtha Perry Reeves. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Reeves, and one sister, Nora Haywood. Omel is survived by two sisters, Pauline Clay of Mansfield, Ohio, and Cloma Meredith of Morehead; two brothers, Paul Reeves and Robert Reeves, both of Mansfield, Ohio; three children, Gary Randy Reeves of Ohio, Tammy Reeves and Jill Reeves, both of Fleming County; several loving grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. He was a self-employed mechanic and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, April 20, 2015, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Louie Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Cemetery in Carter County. Pallbearers will be David Edens, Larry Thomas, Mark Thomas, Harold Thomas, Justin King, Richard Riddle, and Arland Littleton. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, April 20, 2015, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
