Obituary

Oleta Jewell Hall Marshall, 91, of Windsor Care, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, formerly of Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2012. She was born September 2, 1920, in Morehead, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Bethel and Leafie Jane McClain Hall. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Edwin -Red- Marshall, who passed away in 1963; one brother, Murvel Hall; and one brother-in-law, Billy Joe Hall. Oleta is survived by her son, Gerald (Jerry) Marshall and wife Dixie of Union City, Ohio; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Pitzer and husband Jim of Arcanum, Ohio, Christopher Marshall and wife Amy of Ft. Myers, Florida, Antoinette Ruschman and husband Dominic of Villa Hills, Kentucky, and Jeffrey Marshall and wife Christine of Dayton, Ohio; and seven great-grandchildren, Trey, Kyle, Chad, Veronica, James, Kirstin, and Tyler. She is also survived by her sister, Joyce Hall of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; her brother, Paul Hall and wife Jan of Mercer, Pennsylvania; four nephews, David Hall of Mt. Sterling, Rick Hall and wife Sandy of Mt. Sterling, Mike Hall of Beavercreek, Ohio, and James Hall of Mercer, Pennsylvania; and two nieces, Cynthia Portman and husband David of Mercer, Pennsylvania, and Sarah Noble and husband David of Lexington, Kentucky. Also surviving are great-nephews, Dylan Hall, Matthew Hall, Andrew Hall, Christopher Portman, Jayson Portman, and Jonathan Portman and great-nieces, Katherine Hall, Kelsey Hall, and Annie Kate Noble. Oleta was a homemaker for most of her life, but for a time she worked at the school cafeteria, Eagles Nest Restaurant, and the Bill Davis Bakery, specializing in cake decorating. She was a longtime member of the Homemakers Club and enjoyed crafts and sewing. She was a member of the Morehead First Church of God and sang in the choir. Visitation is Saturday, May 19, 2012, at 12:30 p.m. at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals with a funeral at 1:30 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. Ben Furman officiating. Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery. Pallbearers: Jeffrey Marshall, Christopher Marshall, David Hall, Mike Hall, Rick Hall, Trey Perkins, Kyle Perkins, and James Ruschman. Arrangements are under the direction of Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead. Visitation: Saturday, May 19, 2012, at 12:30 p.m. Funeral: Saturday, May 19, 2012, at 1:30 p.m. Interment: Brown Cemetery
