Obituary

Ocie May Thacker Hamilton, age 55, of Bull Fork Road, Morehead, passed away Friday, February 19, 2016, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. Born July 8, 1960, in Pikeville, she was a daughter of the late Tom Junior Thacker and Cenia Marie Slone Thacker. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Otis Thacker, and two sisters, Tammy Sue Thacker and Martha Thacker Ballen. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Danny Hamilton, whom she married October 5, 1981; one son, Danny Dwayne Hamilton of Morehead; one daughter, Deanna Sue Hamilton Cundiff of Morehead; two grandchildren, Tony Clayburn Cundiff II and Haley Marie Cundiff. Also surviving are four sisters, Donna (Mike) Thacker, Lou Ann Thacker (Joey Epling) Scott, and Gusty Thacker, all of Pikeville, and Cleo Thacker (David) Moles of North Carolina; one brother, Russell Jr. (Minnie McMillan) Thacker of Morehead; several nieces and nephews; and extended family. Ocie was a former manager of Burger King and sales associate at Wal-Mart in Morehead. She loved to cook, sell items at the flea market, watch game shows on television, play bingo when she was able, and especially spending time and playing with her grandchildren. Ocie attended Mud Lick Church of God where she had been saved by the Lord. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 23, 2016, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Mark Caldwell and Elder Johnny Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow in Markwell Cemetery on Bull Fork Road. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Visitation is from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, February 22, 2016, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
