Obituary

Norman L. Carpenter, 75, of Lexington, Kentucky, died, Friday, September 7, 2012, at his residence. Born January 31, 1937, in Clearfield, Kentucky, he was a son of the late James and Roxie Carpenter. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Norman Brian Carpenter; several brothers and sisters; and special in-laws, Clyde V. and Bertie White. Survivors include his wife, Wanda White Carpenter; two sons, Rodney G. (Dawn) Profit of Lexington, Kentucky, and Jeff (Tina) Carpenter of Willowick, Ohio; two brothers, Richard Carpenter of Ohio, and Kermit (Nancy) Johnson, Jr. of Michigan; one sister, Judy Lou Cuccia of Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Logan and Regan Profit, Samantha Miller, and Melissa, Kevin and Scott Carpenter; and a great grandchild, Ella Jade Carpenter. He was retired from Square D and was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran. Visitation will be in Lexington, Kentucky, on Sunday, September 9, 2012, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home on Main Street. Additional visitation will be in Morehead, Kentucky, on Monday, September 10, 2012, from 1 until 2 p.m. at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. immediately following visitation with Rodney Profit officiating. Full military honors will be presented by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass, 2312 Alexandria Drive, Lexington, KY 40504, God-s Pantry, 1685 Jaggie Fox Way, Lexington, KY 40511, or to a charity of one-s choice.
