Obituary

Norma Louise Knipp Deem Melrose went to be with The Lord at the age of 81 on August 31, 2014, in Jacksonville, Florida. She was born in Eskdale, West Virginia, on August 2, 1933, to George Littleton and Mildred Queen Dora Scott Knipp. She was a long-time resident of Morehead, Kentucky, and Akron, Ohio, where there are many who will miss her kind spirit. She moved to Jacksonville, Florida, in 2006. She was a member of Oak Harbor Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida, and a member of the DAV Ladies Auxiliary. She worked most of her life in the family owned wholesale produce business. She leaves behind many family members to cherish her memory including sons: Lester Raymond Deem II, and George Waitman Deem (Kathy); brother, George Knipp; grandchildren, Lester Raymond (Ray) Deem III (Miranda), Kenneth V. Deem, Shawn M. Deem, Candice Kearsey, and John Berg, III; great grandchildren, Cole Deem, Matthew Deem and Dominick Deem. She was predeceased by her husbands, Lester Raymond Deem and Okey Kenneth Melrose; daughter, Charlotte Jean Deem Calton; and sister, Cynthia Jackson (Paul), as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews. A visitation was held at at 2765 State Road A1A, Atlantic Beach, Fl on Thursday, September 4, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and funeral services were held at the church at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 5, 2014. Arrangements were under the direction and care of Beaches Memorial Park First Coast Funeral Home, (904)249-1166.
