Norma Sue Brown, age 82, of the CCC Trail, Morehead, passed away on November 21, 2023, at Vanceburg Rehabilitation and Care after an extended illness.

She was born on March 28, 1941, in Morehead, the daughter of Russell Lambert and Olive (Caudill) DeHart.  In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald DeHart and Gary DeHart, stepfather Cletis DeHart, and son-in-law Allen Farrell.

She is survived by two daughters, Terri (Brown) Speaks of Longwood, Florida, and Melissa Brown-Farrell of Morehead.  She is also survived by one sister, Carol DeHart and her husband Carl of Tipp City, Ohio.

She was a devoted mother to daughters Terri and Melissa, serving as a troop leader in the Girl Scouts of America and was actively involved with the PTA.

Sue was a retired bank manager in Florida, returning to Morehead in 2008.  Following her retirement, she shared her home with her mother Olive, caring for her during her final years.

Sue was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking and baking for family and friends.  Cooking for others brought her great pleasure.

Sue will be sadly missed and her memory cherished by her remaining family and many friends.

The family would like to express a sincere thank you to the staff at Vanceburg Rehabilitation and Care for the excellent care provided during her time at their facility.

Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Monday, November 27, 2023, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals with Brother Charles Moore officiating.  Burial will follow in Crix Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Visitation for Sue will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, November 27, 2023, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
