Norene Pettit, age 58, of Highway 519, Morehead, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 29, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born January 22, 1968, in Morehead, Kentucky, she is the beloved daughter of Janice Gregory Wells of Morehead and the late Paul Pettit.
In addition to her mother, Norene is survived by three sisters, Pauletta Keeton (Rick) of West Liberty, Angela LeMay (JK) of Farmers, and Melissa Thompson (Stephen) of Owingsville; one brother, Christopher Douglas Wells (Hannah) of Morehead; her stepfather, Paul Douglas Wells of Morehead; a host of nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; and many other extended family members and dear friends.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Cecil and Lenola Brown Gregory, and her paternal grandparents, David "Hoppy" and Bearl Haney Pettit.
Norene was a graduate of Rowan County Senior High School and attended Charity Freewill Baptist Church. She enjoyed shopping, going out to eat, playing bingo, sewing, making crafts, painting, and watching her all-time favorite television show, The Dukes of Hazzard.
Above all, Norene dearly loved her family. She had a contagious laugh and a beautiful smile that warmed the hearts of everyone she met. Gentle and kind, she never spoke a harsh word. She especially loved children, particularly babies, and was known by all who knew her as the sweetest person with a true heart of gold.
