Obituary

Nick Alan Caudill, 58, of Cranston Road, Morehead, passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at UK–St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead.

Born December 16, 1966, in Morehead, he was the son of the late Henry A. Caudill and Clara Ann "Georgie" Cooper Caudill. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Samuel Carter Caudill, and a special niece, Abby Nicole King.

Nick is survived by his wife, Jeanne Lyons Caudill; nine brothers and sisters: Dianne Caudill Hodges of Morehead; Henry Caudill, Jr. (Teresa) of Morehead; Patti Caudill Wood of Morehead; Kathy King (John Earl) of Morehead; Mike "Doc" Caudill (Libby) of Morehead; Jeff Caudill (Gretta) of Morehead; Mark Caudill (Tammy) of Clearfield; Anita "Babe" Fraley (Jim) of San Diego, California; and Steve Caudill (Angie) of Morehead.

Other survivors include numerous beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family and friends who will cherish his memory. He is also the "favorite son-in-law" to Ronnie and Cherry Lyons of Olympia, Kentucky.

A 1984 graduate of Rowan County Senior High School, Nick was the owner and operator of Henry's Recycling on Cranston Road. A die-hard Democrat, he also served the community as a Rowan County Magistrate and a County Building Inspector for 25 years.  Additionally, he was well known as a skilled craftsman when he worked as a carpenter for a number of years.

Nick's many interests included listening to all kinds of music, especially his favorite local band—Seven Turn; boating on Cave Run Lake, 4-wheeling, and admiring his "Harley." He was fascinated by anything connected to the Legend of Bigfoot.  When Nick was home, chances were Bigfoot was on the television 24/7.  Above all, Nick loved and took great pride in being "UNCLE NICK" to his nieces and nephews and countless others who claimed him along the way. Time spent with his loving family and good friends is what he valued most .

Nick will be remembered for his commitment to his family, his service to the community, and the countless friendships he built over the years.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, August 18, 2025, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Mark Caldwell and Pastor Glenda Pettit officiating. Burial will follow in Cranston Cemetery.

Pallbearers:  John Earl King, David "Papaw" Branham, Denny Murphy, Anthony Henry, Mark Chapman and Danny Ray McClurg.  Honorary pallbearers:  Bobby Earl Alderman, Gus Bartley, Will Bradley, Ronnie Lyons, Ray-Ray White, Oatie Morehouse, and all of Uncle Nick's loving nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the service at 2 p.m. Monday, August 18, 2025, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
