Obituary

Nelva Lowell Watson Hay, age 92, of Hay Drive, Hillsboro, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at the Fleming County Hospital in Flemingsburg. Born October 5, 1922, in Floyd County, she was the only child of the late Lilburn Henson Watson and Grace Crisp Watson. Her husband of 52 years, John P. Hay, preceded her in death on September 2, 2001. Mrs. Hay is survived by three sons, Johnny Lowell Hay and wife Carolyn of Bethel, Ohio, James Michael Hay and wife Etta of Flemingsburg, and Jeffrey Paul Hay of Hillsboro; four daughters, Sharon L. Blum of Ocean, New Jersey, Jeannie K. Hunley and husband David of DuBois, Pennsylvania, Lorraine Leadingham of Owingsville, and Grace Janette Hay of Hillsboro; 17 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Mrs. Hay's life was focused on her family. She also enjoyed gardening, sewing, and meeting with friends at the Widow's Club in Hillsboro. She was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church. Pallbearers: Grandsons, Steven Hay, Jordan Hay, Jonathan Hay, Justin Hay, Michael Rawlings, Kris Rawlings, Patrick Hunley, and great grandson, Kyle Rawlings. Honorary pallbearers: Danny Wyatt and Kelly Muse. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, June 20, 2015, at Hutton Funeral Home with Brother Gerald Saunders officiating. Burial will follow in the Newman Cemetery. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Friday, June 19, 2015, at the Hutton Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
