Nathan Ray Peyton, age 84, of Peyton Road, Morehead, passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at Windsor Care Nursing Home and Rehab Center in Mt. Sterling.

Born September 15, 1939, in North Vernon, Indiana, he was the son of the late James Perry Peyton and Clora Frances Peyton.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Susan Pauline Gevedon Peyton on November 4, 2020; four sisters, Velma Peyton, Orene McCowan, Lenora Faye Perry, and Ula Beatrice Littleton; two brothers, Elwood Peyton and Curtis Waldo Peyton; and a great grandson, J. D. Maschino.

He is survived by one son, Jerry C. (Jewell) Maschino of Morehead; five grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; and 19 great-great grandchildren.

Other survivors one sister, Thelma Long of Campton; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.

Mr. Peyton was a self-employed carpenter and was a member of Sunlight Baptist Church in Wolfe County. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, ginseng and mushroom hunting, gardening, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ray will be greatly missed and always remembered with love.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, August 11, 2024, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Roger Long officiating.  Burial will follow in Grassy Lick Cemetery in Morgan County.

Pallbearers:  Glen Maschino, Derek Maschino, Brandon Delgado, Kyle Adkins, Homer Whitley, Mike Littleton, Anthony Perry, and Nathan Perry. Honorary pallbearers:  Jerry Maschino and Don Adkins.

Visitation will be from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, August 11, 2024, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
