Nancy Jean Wagoner Horning, age 85, of West First Street, Morehead, passed away Friday, September 8, 2017, at the Life Care Center in Morehead. She was born January 30, 1932, in Sandy Hook, a daughter of the late Willy and Molly Winkleman Wagoner. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by four children, Ronald Dale Whitt, Rhonda Lou Whitt, Evelyn Charlene Whitt Sheperd, and Gary Lee Whitt; three sisters, Wanda Florence Wagoner Fultz, Chloe Wagoner Lewis, and Anna Maude Wagoner Whitt, and one brother, Jimmie Vernon Wagoner. She is survived by her husband, Robert Ray Horning, whom she married October 21, 1977; ten children, Lonnie Whitt of Salt Lick, Joe Whitt of Morehead, Lawrence "Bub" and Kathy Whitt of Morehead, Janie and Randy Rice of Morehead, Dean and Candy Whitt of Sandy Hook, Brenda and John Shepherd of Rush, Joyce and Norman Kenyan, Gloria Horning, Christine Horning, and Oscar Horning, all of Michigan. Other survivors include one brother, Willy Bernerd and Novinda Wagoner of Morehead; 34 grandchildren; 57 great grandchildren; 45 great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends. Mrs. Horning was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with family and friends, making everyone laugh, talking on the phone, sewing quilts, going to yard sales, and collecting baby dolls and monkeys. She loved to sing at church and with her husband. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, September 11, 2017, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Ricky Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
