Nancy LaVerne Smith, age 64, of Partin Street, Clearfield, passed away Friday, April 4, 2014, at her residence. Born October 30, 1949, in Millerstown, she was a daughter of the late Hermon Holmes and Lucile Hatfield Smith. Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Riggs. She is survived two sisters, Pat (Mark) Gooch of Pikeville and Tina (Edward) Kiper of Falls of Rough and several nieces and nephews. A retired clinical psychologist, her last employment was with the Department of Corrections, Eastern Kentucky Corrections Complex in West Liberty. Ms. Smith received the Psy.D. and was a member of MENSA. Graveside services will be held at the Millerstown Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead. Funeral: Graveside service at a later date.
