Mitzie D. Kelsey Porter, age 65, of Redwood Lane, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2011, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. Born April 28, 1945, in Rowan County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Ida Moore Kelsey. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Granville, Lee, and Gene Kelsey. Mitzie is survived by her husband, Ronald Eugene -Ron- Porter, whom she married November 11, 1967; one son, Ron -Tiger- Porter and wife Darcee of Grayson, Kentucky; two daughters, Lori Porter Ross of Winchester, Kentucky, and Crystal Porter Black and husband Shannon of Morehead, Kentucky; and eight grandchildren, Paige Porter, Emily Porter, Lydia Porter, Brittany Lambert, Maggie Lambert, Ethan Lambert, L-Shae Black, and Tanner Black. Other survivors include one sister, Judy Ellis of Morehead, Kentucky, and special friends, Kash and Sandy Reed and Tara and Shawn Perkins and their son, Shooter Mason. Mitzie owned and operated Mama Mick-s Day Care with her daughter Crystal and cherished all the children she cared for the past 31 years. Mitzie loved her family so very much, especially her grandchildren, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends, vacationing at the beach, shopping, and going to yard sales. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Brian Farmer and Brother Rob Ginter officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Justin Derrickson, Brian Derrickson, Casey Derrickson, Shannon Black, Brian Farmer, Ethan Lambert, Jared Ravenscraft, and Adam Earlywine.
