Obituary

Mitchell C. Hale, age 76, of Old Owingsville Road, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, February 21, 2010, at his residence. Born May 17, 1933, in Menifee County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Russell and Gladys Hughes Hale. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother, Richard Hale, granddaughter-in-law, Melissa Oaks, and great granddaughter, Taylor Oaks. Mitchell is survived by his wife, Barbara Hiler Hale; a daughter, Connie Hale Smith of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Brent Oaks of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, and Leisha Jones and husband Kenyon of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; and four great grandchildren, Haley Willoughby, Courtney Oaks, Jaylen Oaks, and Dorian Jones. Also surviving are two brothers, Harold Hale and wife Juanita of Frenchburg, Kentucky, and Darrell Hale and wife Eula Mae of Owingsville, Kentucky; four sisters, Eunice Sprague and husband Don of Monroe, Ohio, Janice Hunt and husband Johnny of Louisville, Kentucky, Pauline Karrick and husband Don of Owingsville, Kentucky, and Barbara Jones and husband Billy of Sudith, Kentucky; a special niece, Jackie Parks of Okeechobee, Florida; and a special friend, Frank Carr. Mitchell was owner and operator of Hale Trucking and member of the Mt. Sterling First Church of God. Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 23, 2010, at the Mt. Sterling First Church of God, 1051 Camargo Road, Mt. Sterling, KY 40353. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 24, 2010, at Mt. Sterling First Church of God with Jeff Perkins and David Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Machpelah Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Leisha Jones, Brent Oaks, Blake Ingram, Jarrod Jones, John Hunt, Tony Sprague, Wes Hale, Haley Willoughby, and Courtney Oaks. Honorary pallbearers will be the Mt. Sterling First Church of God Heritage Sunday School Class. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Sterling First Church of God, Building Fund, 1051 Camargo Road, Mt. Sterling, KY 40353 or St. Claire Hospice, 222 Medical Circle, Morehead, KY 40351. Arrangements are under the direction of Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351. Visitation: Tuesday, February 23, 2010, from 5 pm - 8 pm Funeral: Wednesday, February 24, 2010, at 11 a.m. Interment: Machpelah Cemetery, Mt. Sterling
