Rev. Millard E. Petitt, age 87, of U.S. 60 East, Salt Lick, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2009, at his residence. He was born July 5, 1921, in Bath County, Kentucky, and was the son of the late Willie and Mollie Evans Petitt. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by nine siblings: Odesa -Dessie- Gabbard, Janie Jennings, Zora Petitt, Arthur Petitt, Mitchell Petitt, Harlan Petitt, Alma Collins, Ethel Hall and Wales Petitt. Rev. Petitt is survived by his wife of 58 years, Eula Rice Petitt, whom he married February 16, 1951; three daughters, Glenda Petitt of Morehead, Kentucky, Sue Ginter and husband Dwain of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, and Elizabeth Petitt of Maysville, Kentucky; two granddaughters, Clarissa Jordan Ginter and Mollie Francene Ginter; and one sister, Oda Razor of Moreland, Indiana. Rev. Petitt was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a lifelong member of the Church of God. He served as pastor at the Cranston First Church of God for over 20 years. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, March 7, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Lowell Rice and the Rev. Vernon Gross officiating. Burial will follow at the Owingsville Cemetery in Owingsville, Kentucky, with full military rites conducted by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126. Pallbearers will be Jeff Caudill, Lincoln Caudill, Steve Caudill, June Caudill, Anthony Anderson, Paul Anderson, and Dwain Ginter. Visitation for the Rev. Millard Petitt is after 6 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals. Visitation: Friday, March 6, 2009, after 6 p.m. Funeral: Saturday, March 7, 2009, at 1 p.m. Interment: Owingsville Cemetery
