Mildred G. Stanley, age 89, of Knapp Avenue, Morehead, passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2018, at the home of her granddaughter in Owingsville. Born December 21, 1928, in Itawamba County, Mississippi, she was the daughter of the late Delbert Gregory and Edna Buskirk Gregory. Mildred's husband of 59 years, John D. Stanley, preceded her in death on May 16, 2012. She is survived by one son, Dr. Rodney B. Stanley and wife Donna of Morehead; one granddaughter, Melissa Bealert and husband Gary, and one great granddaughter, Hannah Bealert, all of Owingsville. Mildred retired from Morehead State University after more than 30 years as a librarian. In addition to being a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Mildred enjoyed nurturing her diverse assortment of wildflowers, playing in three bridge clubs, and volunteering countless hours as a member of St. Claire Auxiliary. She was also a well-known artist whose paintings are treasured by many.
