Obituary

Mike Marshall, age 54, of Perkins Street, Morehead, passed away Saturday, August 24, 2013, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. Born May 18, 1959, in Maysville, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Omar Joseph Marshall, who died August 2, 1991, and Delphia Johnson Marshall, who died August 16, 2010. Also preceding him in death was one brother, Scotty Marshall, on May 25, 1998. Mike is survived by his brother, Austin, who drove the family home from the hospital when Mike was born. Austin and his wife, Marjorie Marshall, reside in Richmond, Kentucky; a sister, Anita Kay Marshall Fox of Flemingsburg, Kentucky; numerous nieces and nephews, including the Cyndi Manz and Keith Marshall families. Mike served in the U.S. Army as a tank commander and instructor; built the first ISP network in Fleming County (it was well liked); was a deputy sheriff of Fleming County for 13 years; and worked for Safe Patrol, KY Transportation Cabinet, for more than five years helping motorists who had problems on the interstate roads (both I-64 and I-75). He was well liked and trusted by those with whom he worked. Mike also enjoyed traveling and photography. He loved 'Luke,' his only 'doggie' friend, who brought him much joy and companionship. At Mike's request, no services will be held. Interment will be in Fleming County Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
