Mike Back, age 63, of Pamela Drive, Mt. Sterling, passed away Friday, June 16, 2023, at St. Joseph East, in Lexington following an extended illness.

Born March 24, 1960, he was the son of the late J. K. Back and Alice Howard Back.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Michael Fugate, and three siblings, Cardell Back, Grady Back, and Kathy Rigsby.

Mike is survived by three devoted children:  Amber Back and husband Joe; Amanda Jones and husband Eric; and Mason Back, all of Mt. Sterling; and four precious granddaughters, Morgan Purvis, Kyra Purvis, Emmie Purvis, and Miracle Conrad.

Other survivors include four siblings:  Media and Delbert Fairchild of Xenia, Ohio, and Connie and Tony Bowman, Estill and Jennifer Back, and William Ray Back, all of Wellington; two special nieces, Becky and Jeremy Caudill and Tina and Mike Rogers; and two great nephews, Jaydon Rogers and Hunter Caudill, as well as a host of extended family and friends.

Mike was a retired construction worker and attended Dayspring Church when his health allowed.  He loved being the devoted Dad, Paps, and Papaw.  His children were always the focus of his life and family trips to the Smokey Mountains left great memories for everyone, especially Mason. Known as "the family secret keeper," Mike will be remembered as headstrong, a hard worker, and a perfectionist who wanted "peace forever."  His legacy will live on in his children and grandchildren who loved him dearly.  He will be remembered with love and greatly missed.

A celebration of life will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Rodney Coffey and Pastor Jay Keaton officiating.  Burial will follow in the Back Cemetery in Menifee County.

Pallbearers:  Eric Jones, Joe Conrad, Tony Bowman, William Back, Mike Rogers, Jeremy Caudill, Estill Back, and Delbert Fairchild.  Honorary pallbearers: Hunter Caudill and Jaydon Rogers.

Visitation for Mike Back will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, June 19, 2023; from noon until 8 p.m. on Tuesday; and after 9 a.m. Wednesday, all at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
