Michael Lee "Mike" Gilliam, age 68, of Lower Caney Road, Morehead, born September 6, 1953, passed away Monday, June 27, 2022, at his residence after an extended illness.

He is survived by his mother, Thelma Jones of Morehead; three sons, Seth Edens of Louisville, Jeremy Lee Crum of Morehead, and Travis Gilliam of Lexington; three grandchildren; one sister, Maresa  Gilliam Foster of Morehead; one brother, Tim Gilliam of Claremore, Oklahoma; extended family and many friends.

Mike worked in construction and operated Mike's Home Improvement for over 20 years. Bluegrass music was his passion.  A skilled musician, Mike played several instruments including the banjo, guitar, and bass. Mike used this talent playing in several bands throughout Eastern Kentucky. He will be missed by all who knew him.

A visitation of remembrance will be on Sunday, July 3, 2022, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., with a service to follow with his brother Tim Gilliam and Pastor Rusty Hedrick officiating at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel, 400 Fraley Dr., Morehead, Kentucky 40351.
