Michael Brott Cox, age 56, of Big Perry Road, Morehead, KY, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2009, at the residence of his mother. Born February 8, 1953, in Portsmouth, VA, Michael is the son of Margaret Dehart Cox of Morehead, KY, and the late Lester Wayne (Bud) Cox. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Karen Shepherd Cox; two sisters, Judith Wayne Brown of Lexington, KY, and Sherri Monique Knapp of Belfrey, OH; one niece; and two nephews. Michael served in the U.S. Air Force during the early 70-s and spent the remainder of his life as a self-employed specialty design worker for homes and businesses in Florida. Michael desperately fought cancer for two long years; ultimately, he lost the battle. Michael-s family extends great appreciation to all family and friends who helped Michael through his battle and would like to acknowledge Michael-s two most special friends, Randy Brown and Keith Brown. Services will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals. Funeral: Private services.
