Merl L. Pennington Wolfe, age 84, of Walton Avenue, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Monday, January 17, 2011, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. She was born April 6, 1926, at Brown Ridge in Elliott County, Kentucky, and was the daughter of the late Dewey and Mallie Jenkins Pennington. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Max Vaughn and Leonard Wolfe; one brother, Ray Jenkins; and two sisters, Myrt Stafford and Ivory Kraft. She is survived by three daughters and their husbands, Ann and Junior Fraley of Elliott County, Linda and Elbert McKinney of Morehead, and Brenda and Mark Lewis of Morehead; one son and his wife, Donald Ray and Sue Vaughn of Morehead; one sister, Faye Fannin of Elliott County; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a very special great niece, Tammi. Merl was a homemaker and a devoted mother and grandmother. A fun-loving person, she always enjoyed visiting with family and friends. She was a member of the Clearfield Tabernacle First Church of God. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, January 20, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor James Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Elliott County Memory Gardens in Sandy Hook. Pallbearers will be David Eldridge, Donald Vaughn, Jr., Ronnie Vaughn, Todd Monroe, Scott Brown, and Mark Lewis. Honorary pallbearers will be Junior Fraley, Elbert McKinney, John Kraft, and Virgil Black. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Wednesday, January 19, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.
