Obituary

Meredith Lynn Kissick, age 52, of Upper Lick Fork, Clearfield, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 28, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.  Lynn was born September 1, 1972, in Anderson, Indiana, to Sherry and Jerry McKenzie.

Lynn is survived by the love of her life, Sam Kissick; daughter, Makenzie Kissick (Evan Knipp) of Morehead; three granddaughters: Mallory Hunt, Aurora Hall and Elsie Knipp of Morehead; two brothers: Terry McKenzie of Olive Hill and Josh (Danielle) Trent of Morehead.  Lynn is also survived by a host of family and friends spread across this country that she and Sam met along their travels.  One very special friend was like a mother to her and she loved dearly Jan Bowen.

Lynn and Sam were sweethearts for many years before marrying on June 11, 1996, at Smoky Mountains Memory Chapel in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.  Lynn and Sam enjoyed 29 years of love and making memories together.

Lynn was preceded in death by paternal grandparents: Reverend Guy and Joyce McKenzie; paternal grandmother, Verna Ray Carey; mother, Sherry Lynn Walker, father-in-law, Blaine Kissick, and beloved daughter, Savannah Jo Kissick.

Lynn was a light to all who knew her.  Her smile, laugh and energy were contagious.  Her love for family and friends was felt when you were close or far from her.  Lynn's personality allowed her to spark conversation and easily make friends and gain a tremendous amount of extended family as she traveled with Sam.  Her love and kindness were also shown in her love for animals.  From a young age she was an avid dog and horse lover.  She loved to show and care for horses--especially her boy Hank--and her dogs, Max and Vada.

Lynn loved to travel, see new places and experience new things.  She loved to put her toes in the sand, take a dip in the ocean or take a ride in the woods.  Lynn was a lover of all forms of nature.

For all who knew Lynn, we would agree that through all her life adventures, travels and experiences, her greatest accomplishments on this Earth were her "babies."  She loved Sam, Makenzie, Aurora and Elsie more than life itself.  She was so proud of the life and family she and Sam had made together.

Lynn loved to see the tulips bloom, the Easter lilies blossom, to sit around a campfire or relax on the back porch.  She would want her family and friends to enjoy these things as she did and to remember her fondly.
