Meredith Kay Arabie Goodan, age 69, of Mabry Ridge, Morehead, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at UK Medical Center in Lexington due to injuries sustained in a tragic automobile accident.

Born November 7, 1956, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, she was the daughter of the late Junius Clobule Arabie and Janice Clark Trent. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Olivia Rogga, and her brother, James Thomas.

Meredith is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, Billy Ray Goodan; one son, Christopher Ray Goodan of Morehead; two daughters, Lee Ann Rogga (Brian) of Mequon, Wisconsin, and Jana Fife (Jonathan) of Morehead; and four grandchildren, Emma, Collin, John, and Hollie.

Also surviving are three brothers, Clark Thomas of Morehead, Mike Thomas of Wanatah, Indiana, and Tim Thomas of Brentwood, California; two sisters, Judy Brockman of LaGrange, Kentucky and Sue Ann Trent of Cumberland, Maryland; several nieces and nephews; and extended family members and friends.

Meredith spent 10 years working at Summit and 15 years at Nestle, both in Mt. Sterling. She took pride in her work and gave her best in all that she did. She loved spending time with her family, especially during the holidays. Christmas was always a special time for her. She enjoyed decorating, bringing the family together, and seeing the excitement on her grandchildren’s faces. She loved wearing colorful tops and accessorizing earrings and necklaces, little things that were so much a part of who she was.

Meredith had a personality all her own and a way of making her thoughts known. Throughout her life, she did so much for family, showing her love in the many things she did for those she cared about. It is these everyday moments, along with the special times spent together, that her family will always remember.

Although her passing was sudden and unexpected, her family will cherish the years they shared with her, the memories they made, and the love she gave. She will be deeply missed and will always hold a special place in our hearts.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, October 19, 2026, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, with Pastor Tim Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Chris Goodan, Brian Rogga, Jon Fife, and other family and friends.

Visitation will be from 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. Monday, October 19, 2026, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, Kentucky.
