Obituary

Melvina Almeda Crum Lambert, age 58, of Wildflower Lane, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, January 9, 2021, at St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead.

Born May 22, 1962, in Boyd County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Melvin and Almeda Deloris Evans Crum.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Danny Frank Crum and William Crum; a nephew, Paul Edward Crum, Jr., and a sister-in-law, Jackie Crum.

Melvina is survived by her husband, Vernon Winston Lambert, whom she wed March 13, 1999; one daughter, Christina Dean Lee Lambert, and one son, Tyler Lambert, all of Morehead.

She is also survived by four brothers, Fred and wife Lynn Crum, Paul Crum and Richard and wife Linda Crum, all of Greenup, Kentucky, and Ted Crum of Olive Hill, Kentucky; two sisters, Eva and husband Ralph Burchett of Wurtland, Kentucky, and Juanita Crum of Olive Hill, Kentucky. Other survivors include 24 nieces and nephews, 36 great nieces and nephews, and 12 great-great nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her church family and many friends.

Melvina was a loving mom, wife, sister, and friend who greatly enjoyed helping others.  She babysat several children in Rowan County and loved them dearly. Later she operated Pecco's Consignment Store for two and a half years. She enjoyed playing in the Morehead Dulcimer Club and watching Hallmark movies and mysteries.  A Christian who lived by example, Melvina was a member of Salt Lick First Church of God, where she served as the Pastor's wife, taught Children's Church and Vacation Bible School. She was always available for every need inside or outside the church.  She will be lovingly remembered by all who knew her and remain in their hearts forever.

A celebration of her life will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at Lakeside Christian Academy Gymnasium with Rev. Jeff Fannin and Rev. Jared DeAtley officiating. For those who want to participate virtually, the service will be live streamed at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Facebook page beginning at 3 p.m.

Burial will follow in New Alfrey Cemetery.   Melvina's four brothers and Randy Crouch and Tim Thompson will serve as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Howard, David Caudill, Dennis Swartz, Sharlet Fultz, Melvin Curtis Burchett, Tyler Burchett, Matthew Crum, Michael Crum, Shannon Dobbins, Travis Crum, David Crum, Shawn Moore, Uncle Jan Evans and Aunt Darlene Evans.

Visitation for Melvina will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at Lakeside Christian Academy Gymnasium, 2535 U.S. Hwy. 60 West, Morehead, KY.
