Melissa Faye “Missy” Curtis, age 44, of North Tolliver Road, Morehead, formerly of Owen County, passed away Thursday, August 27, 2026, at UK-St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead following an extended illness.

Born September 14, 1981, in Lexington, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late John Wayne Curtis and Thelma Mae Gillispie Curtis. In addition to her parents, Missy was preceded in death by two brothers, Anthony Wayne “Tony” Curtis and J.D. Curtis.

Missy is survived by her sister, Kimberly Gose (Bobby Noble) of Salt Lick, Kentucky; her brother, Micah Curtis (Tiffany) of Bloomington, Indiana; and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews who will cherish the memories they shared with her.

Missy was a hardworking woman who enjoyed working alongside her family. She formerly worked with her family on construction jobs throughout Scott and Fayette Counties and also spent time working on the family farm in Owen County. She loved being outdoors and especially enjoyed hunting.

Above all, Missy treasured her family. She found joy in spending time with her nieces and nephews and was happiest when surrounded by the people she loved. Her family will remember her for the special place she held in their lives and for the many memories they made together.

Missy will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her.

At Missy’s request, there will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held at a later date at Sadieville Cemetery in Scott County.
