Melissa Waltz Frazier, age 40, of Nelson Blvd., Rome, Georgia, passed away Saturday morning, December 13, 2008, at the Redmond Regional Medical Center in Rome, Georgia. Melissa was born in Morehead, KY on June 3, 1968, and was the daughter of Luster V. Waltz, who died September 12, 1993, and Inez Clark Waltz, who died June 14, 2002. Melissa was the wife of Tony Frazier for 20 years, and the mother of two children, daughter Morgan Frazier, age 15, and son Nicholas Frazier, age 11. Survivors also include one sister, Brenda Waltz Anderson, and two brothers, Rick and Tony Waltz, all of Morehead KY. Melissa was a graduate of Rowan County High School and attended Morehead State University. Melissa was member of the Baptist Church for over fifteen years and was a very active volunteer within the church. She also dedicated her time as a volunteer within the Corbin Independent school system and became a substitute teacher. Melissa possessed a unique talent for designing home interior items for family and friends. She was dearly loved by all her family and friends and will be sadly missed. Visitation is from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2008, at the First Church of God, 576 Sunset Lane, Morehead, KY, with a special service to be held at 7 p.m. by the Rev. Harley Sexton, Jr. A funeral will be held at the church 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 17, 2008, with the Rev. Darren Gaddis officiating. Burial will follow in the Cranston Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tony Frazier, Tony Waltz, Randy Frazier, Jason Waltz, Nicholas Frazier, and Rick Waltz. Arrangements are under the direction of Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals. Visitation: Tuesday, December 16, 2008, from 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral: Wednesday, December 17, 2008, at 1 p.m. Interment: Cranston Cemetery
