Obituary

Megan Dawn Sloan, age 23, of KY 801 North, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, September 18, 2008. She was born August 23, 1985, in Rowan County, Kentucky, and is the daughter of Roger V. Sloan and Jennifer Markwell Johnson, both of Morehead, Kentucky. In addition to her parents, she is survived by two brothers, Jeremy V. Sloan and Dylan W. Johnson; paternal grandmother, Violet Adkins Sloan, wife of the late Billy R. Sloan; maternal grandparents, James Perry Markwell and Alfetta Thomas Markwell; her fianc-, Brandon Howard, all of Morehead, Kentucky, as well as many loving lifelong classmates and friends. Megan was a 2004 graduate of Rowan County Senior High School where she was Homecoming Queen and Miss August during her senior year. She also served on the Prom Court, Sweetheart Court and for two years was selected Daisy Mae at the Sadie Hawkins Dance. She attended Morehead State University and the ITT Technical Institute in Lexington, Kentucky, majoring in internet design. Megan loved all people and enjoyed working with the disabled of all ages. She had been a volunteer at the Life Care Center of Morehead. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, September 22, 2008, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Mark Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow in New Alfrey Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brandon Howard, Jimmy Markwell, Lanny Eldridge, James Spencer, Jordan Collins, Ondie Vinson, Matt Williams, and David Carter. Visitation is after 3 p.m. Sunday, September 21, 2008, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals. Visitation: Sunday, September 21, 2008, after 3 p.m. Funeral: Monday, September 22, 2008, at 1 p.m. Interment: ew Alfrey Cemetery
