Maxine M. Johnson passed peacefully to her heavenly home on Saturday, July 11, 2015, at Hospice of North Central Ohio in Ashland with her family at her side. She was born July 8, 1929, in Shiloh, Ohio, the daughter of the late Howard and Ida Ramey. She enjoyed reading, listening to piano music, working in her flowers and watching birds. However, most of all she cherished time spent with her family. Maxine was preceded in death by her loving husband and soul mate, John in 2002. Prior to his death, they spent summers at their cabin enjoying nature and outdoor activities. In addition, they took part in many mission trips to South Dakota Indian reservations. Maxine is survived by her children: Ronald (Muriel) Johnson; Nancy Dyer, Brenda (David) Coovert; Jane (Ray) Bond; and Catherine (Larry) Paxton; 16 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; and 3 sisters. Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra; son-in-law, Curt; grandson, Curtis; granddaughters, Jennifer and Tori; 3 sisters; and 4 brothers. Friends and family are welcome on Monday, July 13, 2015, from 5-8 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, Ohio, where funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday at 10:30 AM. Maxine was a member of Taylortown Community Church. Her pastor, Rev. O. Douglas Tackett, will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Shiloh, Ohio. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial expressions be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio or to Heartland Lions Eye Banks. Maxine's favorite Bible verse was Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.
