Maxine Marie Adkins, age 73, of Dayton, Ohio, formerly of Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Monday, August 15, 2011, at Heartland Nursing Facility in Centerville, Ohio. She was born July 2, 1938, in Rowan County, Kentucky, and was the daughter of the late Hollie and Grace Thornsberry Adkins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Scott; three brothers, James Adkins, Beecher Adkins, and Hollie Adkins, Jr.; three sisters, Cleo Conn, Bessie Adkins, and Beulah Cline; one daughter, Donna Joyce Smedley; and one son, Rodney Hubert Conn. She is survived by four sons, Wayne Mabry and Allen Mabry, both of Morehead, Kentucky, Randy Ray Adkins and Charles Michael Scott, both of Dayton, Ohio; two daughters, Diane (Terry) Winkle of Morehead, Kentucky, and Angela Scott of Dayton, Ohio; 8 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; one sister, Pearl Chapman of Columbus, Ohio; and a host of nieces and nephews. Maxine was a homemaker. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, August 19, 2011, at the Lytten Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ with Bishop Denzil Fannin officiating. Burial will follow in New Sill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Allen Mabry, Wayne Mabry, Keith Sanders, Shane Blundell, Terry Winkle, and Michael Scott.
