Mattie Lou Rogers Bartley, age 85, of Hwy. 1050, Jeffersonville, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2009, at St. Joseph Mt. Sterling. She was born February 22, 1924, in Montgomery County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Charlie and Isora Wills Rogers. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, James Bartley and Carl Bartley. Her husband, Ray Bartley, passed away April 11, 1990. She is survived by three sons, Charles Ray (Pat) Bartley of Jeffersonville, Kentucky, Bill (Laura) Bartley of Lexington, Kentucky, and Randy Bartley of Jeffersonville, Kentucky; three daughters, Rita (Ray) Oney, Linda McGuire, and Sandy (David) Ballard, all of Jeffersonville, Kentucky; one brother, Bill Rogers of Menifee County, Kentucky; four sisters, Geneva Gibbs, Beulah Manley, Lela Johnson, and Jean Dale, all of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Also surviving are Heather Taylor, whom she raised as her own, and a special niece, Cathy Rogers. Mrs. Bartley was a homemaker and member of the Jeffersonville Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, July 25, 2009, at Jeffersonville Baptist Church with Steve Creech and Wendell Clevinger officiating. Burial will follow in the Miller Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons and great grandsons: Chuck Bartley, Kyle Thompson, Brandon Ballard, Steven McGuire, Justin Bartley, Michael Justice, Jeff Vice, and Bradley Bartley. Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, July 24, 2009, at the Jeffersonville Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, Morehead, KY.
