Matthew Ryan Sabon

Matthew Ryan Sabon, 34, of Trent Ridge, Morehead, KY, passed away Friday, August 14, 2026, at UK St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead.

Born January 26, 1992, in Morehead, he is the son of Alfred Sabon of Morehead, KY and Georgena Salyers Howard of West Liberty, KY.

In addition to his parents, Matthew is survived by four sisters: Kayla Sabon and Roy Christian of Hillsboro, KY, Amy Sabon and Zachary Melcher of Morehead, KY, Morgan Howard of Lawrenceburg, KY, and Emily and Kylan Hignite of Paintsville, KY, and two nephews, Payton Sabon and Waylon Christian.

Other survivors include aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friends Shawn Taylor of Morehead and Darren Gentry of Winchester.

Matthew was preceded in death by his stepmother, Melissa Gilliam Sabon, and dear paternal grandmother, Betty Noble Sabon.

Matthew was a former diesel mechanic and construction worker. He enjoyed riding his dirt bike, playing the guitar, and spending time outdoors. An artistic and creative person, he also loved playing video games, listening to music, and both reading and listening to audiobooks.

Family was especially important to him, and he enjoyed family gatherings and making memories with those he loved. Matthew was deeply loved by his entire family and cherished the special bonds he shared with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed and remembered with love.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until noon on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals. Immediately following visitation, a memorial service will begin at 12 noon with Brother Seth Carter officiating.
