Matthew Hayward Johnson, age 34, of Romans Road, Morehead, passed away Sunday, September 15, 2024.

He was born May 28, 1990, in Morehead, Kentucky, to David Johnson, Sr. and Debra Ball Johnson of Morehead.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by one son, Skyler Lee Michael Johnson; one daughter, Macy Ray Joy Johnson, both of Morehead; two brothers, David L. Johnson, Jr. of Morehead and David Lee Dale of Menifee County; one sister, Dorothy Michelle Johnson of Morehead; several nieces and nephews, as well as aunts, uncles, and many cousins.

Matthew was a former City of Morehead's Park and Recreation Department employee. He loved to hunt and fish. Matthew will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Gathering for family and friends will be from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351. A celebration of life will be held immediately following at 6 p.m. Wednesday with Pastor Jeff Fannin presiding.
