Mary Virginia Stevens Barker, age 90, of U.S. 60 East, Morehead, passed away Friday, September 1, 2017, at her home. She was born January 17, 1927, in Hayes Crossing, a daughter of the late Charlie L. Stevens and Tina Stegall Stevens. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cledith Raymond Barker on October 26, 2002; one son, Scott Barker in 2013; one great granddaughter, Carrie Marie Anderson in 2000; two brothers, James and Jerry Stevens; and one sister, Maxine Hendrickson. Mrs. Barker is survived by three daughters, Pamela (Larry) Brandon of Corpus Christi, TX, Angela Lytle of Morehead, and Mary Lou (John) DeHarte of Morehead; one daughter-in-law, Marguerite Barker of Morehead; one sister, Elsie Gay Hargett of Olive Hill; 9 grandchildren, Joanie Brandon, Joey Brandon, Nikki Dye, Dawn Woodrow, Wes Barker, Tommy Ray Lytle, Rebecca Thomas, Laken DeHarte, and Shelley DeHarte; 14 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; extended family; and caregivers who were very special to her, Sue and Butch Hatton. She was a former Cowden Mfg. employee in Olive Hill and a former M.S.U. housekeeping employee. She loved to read and looked forward to seeing Donna Christian and the library bookmobile. She enjoyed going to Senior Citizens events and yard sales, talking on the phone and visiting with her friends. She attended East End Church of God until she was unable due to her health. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, September 3, 2017, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Don Rivers officiating. Burial will follow in the Stevens Cemetery. Pallbearers: Wes Barker, Butch Hatton, Tommy Woodrow, Dennis Hargett, David Thomas, Darrin Hargett, Tommy Ray Lytle.
