Mary Catherine Oldfield McFarland, age 75, of Riddle Lane, Morehead, Kentucky, formerly of Monroe, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2013, at her residence. Born August 22, 1937, in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Curtis and Molly Crockett Oldfield. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Anna Lawson, Pearl Fairchild, and Thelma Grigsby. Mary was also preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, James Palmer (Bud) McFarland on April 25, 2005, and two sons, Mike McFarland and Kelly McFarland. She is survived by one son, Ron McFarland of Monroe, Ohio, five grandchildren, Jeremy, Brittny, Peyton, Adam, and Dustin McFarland; two great grandsons, Max and Lenox; and two step granddaughters, Jessica and Leah. Other survivors include two sisters, Ruby Stamper and Alma Stamper, both of Morehead, Kentucky; one brother, John Oldfield of Adams County, Ohio; several nieces and nephews; extended family; and friends. Mrs. McFarland was a retired bus driver for Middletown City Schools. She enjoyed cooking and gardening and in her younger years, boating. However, her greatest joy came from her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, August 11, 2013, at Northcutt & Son Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Rodney Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers: Adam, Dustin, Jeremy, and Peyton McFarland, Toby Gardner, Joe Sears, Wes Prather, and David Zimmerman.
