Mary Lou Helton Arnett, age 87, of Highway 213 South, Jeffersonville, passed away Sunday, September 17, 2017, at Baptist Health in Lexington. Born September 27, 1929, in Salyersville and raised in Wolfe County, she was the daughter of the late Andrew Harve Helton and Nannie Brewer Helton. Her husband, Walter Clay Arnett, preceded her in death in 1974. She is survived by two sons, Bill (Amy) Arnett of Mt. Sterling and Bob (Paula) Arnett of Jeffersonville; one daughter, Imogene "Jean" Arnett-Hisel of Mt. Sterling; two step daughters, Faye (Morgan) Morton of Lexington and Cleedia (Reece) Prater of Ohio; one brother, Corbett Helton of Ohio; four grandchildren, Robin Strange, Shannon (Greg) McAlpin, Bobby Paul (Shelby) Arnett, Ryan (Erin) Arnett; six great grandchildren, Cody Campbell, Makaelyn McAlpin, Jaelyn McAlpin, Jerica Abney, Harper Arnett, and Jaxon Arnett; six step grandchildren, Terry Morton, Joy (Kelly) Henderson, Reece Franklin Prater, Jr., Sharon Markham, Debbie Samples, and Mike Prater. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Melissa Arnett; five brothers; and three sisters. Mary enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, and spending time with family and friends. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 20, 2017, at the Jeffersonville Assembly of God with Scott Barnes and Robbie Conn officiating. Burial will follow at the Lovely-Amburgey Cemetery. Pallbearers: Lonnie Hoskins, Randy Dennis, Rick Martin, Leonard Wilson, Phillip Dyer, Jr., James Abney.
