Mary Lou Cook Beasley, age 77, of Morehead, formerly of Birmingham, Alabama, passed away Sunday, October 29, 2017, at the home of her sister and caretaker, Shirley Johnson, on U.S. 60 East, Morehead. She was born December 22, 1939, in Murphy, North Carolina, a daughter of the late Oliver and Nola Dockery Cook. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Cook; a sister, Betty Minahan; and three infant brothers, J. B., James, and Billy. Mrs. Beasley is survived by her son, Jason Beasley and his wife Sara of Birmingham; three grandchildren, Jonathan, Catherine and Joshua, all of Louisiana; two step grandchildren, Cole and Isabel, both of Alabama; three sisters, Doris Walker of Boaz, Alabama, Shirley Johnson of Morehead, and Lassie Bauser of Murphy, North Carolina; three brothers, John Cook of Gadsden, Alabama, David Cook and Jim Cook, both of Highland, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews who loved her. Mary was a former office manager for an insurance company. She enjoyed singing, playing the piano, and attending church. She was a member of Shades Mountain Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama.
