Mary Mae Christy, age 71, of Short Street, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2008, at the Life Care Center of Morehead. Born May 20, 1937, in Rowan County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late George and Nannie Link Christy. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy and Dennie Christy, and one sister, Dorothy Miller Sparks. Mary is survived by one daughter, Bonita Killgo and husband Mike of Elkhart, Texas; one grandson, Michael Shane Killgo; one step granddaughter, Jessica Killgo Venema; four brothers, Chester Christy, Billy Christy, and John Christy, all of Morehead, Kentucky, and George Christy of Gerber, California; two sisters, Viola McKeighen and Lena Keenan, both of Muncie, Indiana. Mary had been a caregiver and was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2008, at the First Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Brian Farmer officiating. Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery Pallbearers will be Andy Stewart, Mike Stewart, Carl Christy, Shane Killgo, Larry Compton, John Adkins, Joe Templeton, Robbie Ginter, and Scott Neal.
