Mary Leota Anderson Murphy, age 91, of Mabry Drive, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Friday, May 2, 2008, at the Life Care Center in Morehead. She was born March 22, 1917, in Hinton, West Virginia, and was the daughter of the late Kelly and Bessie Massie Anderson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. James William Murphy on July 23, 2001; her son, Sergeant Major William Larry Murphy, Sr., on May 4, 1988; and her daughter, Kelia Ann Shelton on March 15, 2003. Mrs. Murphy is survived by three grandchildren, William Larry Murphy, Jr., Tammy Jean Lawrence, and Kayla Morrison; three great grandchildren, Thomas Murphy, Kian Morrison, and Jeanie Lawrence; her daughter-in-law, Sara Jean (Cherry) Porter Murphy of Fayetteville, North Carolina; and her sister, Francis Cole of El Paso, Texas. Rev. and Mrs. Murphy owned and operated Pasquales Pizza in Morehead for a number of years. She was a devout Christian and member of the Johnson Church of God. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Mark Poston and the Rev. Ben Furman officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Don Litton, Joe White, Ron Workman, David Nutter, Bud Stidom, and Jerry Scruggs.
