Obituary

Mary Frances Adkins Hitch, age 62, of Fraley Ridge, Elliott County, Kentucky, passed away Monday, May 7, 2012, at her residence due to a long illness. She was born January 30, 1950, in St. Louis, Missouri, and was the daughter of the late Tom and Beulah Adkins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, William Adkins, and two nephews, Greg Adkins and Wesley Adkins. Mary is survived by her husband of 32 years, Michael Ray Hitch, whom she married June 30, 1979; one daughter, Christy Lynn Davis and husband Paul of West Liberty, Kentucky; one son, Travis Ray Hitch of Morehead, Kentucky; and two grandchildren, Daniel Michael Davis and Haley Laerae Hitch. She is also survived by one brother, Chester Adkins of Elliott County, Kentucky; an honorary sister, Judy Hitch of Morehead, Kentucky; several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Rita Wilson of Morehead, Kentucky. Mary was a homemaker and a member of the Lytten Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends. Mary-s family and friends were very important to her; she always had an open door, a loving heart, and a great big smile. She will be missed by all who knew her. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, May 10, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Arnold Ison officiating. Burial will follow in the Hitch Cemetery, J. R. Hitch Road, Elliott County, Kentucky. Pallbearers will be David Hitch, James Hitch, Darrell Hitch, Tony Hitch, Junior Hitch, Brian Craig, and Dwayne Hitch. Honorary pallbearers will be nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Thursday, May 10, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead. Visitation: Thursday, May 10, 2012, 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Funeral: Thursday, May 10, 2012, at 1 p.m. Interment: Hitch Cemetery, J.R. Hitch Road, Elliott County, KY
