Marvin A
Kidd
Nov 16, 1931 — Jun 2, 2024
Marvin A. Kidd, age 92, of Seas Branch Road, Morehead, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 2, 2024, at Life Care Center in Morehead.
Born November 16, 1931, at his parents' home on Seas Branch to the late Lee Kidd and Daisy Rice Kidd. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Avis Lykins Kidd, on April 29, 2016.
Also preceding him in death were all his siblings, James Lowren Kidd, Lewra Kidd, Lenora Kidd Perry, Nema Kidd Slone, Stella Kidd Lewis, Lawrence M. Kidd, Elizabeth Kidd Buckler, and Geneva Kidd who died in infancy.
Marvin is survived by two daughters Pam Mitchell and husband Robb of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, and Tammy Bradley and husband Allen of Morehead; two grandchildren, Sara Elizabeth Bradley Wells and husband Matt and Kyle Bradley and wife Sarah; and four great grandchildren, Nathaniel and Evelyn Wells and Ava and Lily Bradley.
Mr. Kidd made a living for his family as a logger and tobacco and cattle farmer. He was a veteran of the Korean War and was never short on stories of his time in service. Marvin was a longtime member of the Brinegar Church of God and was always eager to share with others the goodness of God. He was proud to say he had been a Christian for over 50 years. Mr. Kidd enjoyed hard work during his lifetime and never shied away from it.
He was a devoted husband and cared for his ailing wife for the last few years of her life. His greatest joy was his family. Marvin so enjoyed watching the great grandchildren play. He was a very loving man to his friends and family. He leaves an empty space in the family and his memory will forever be with us.
The family would like to thank the staff at Life Care Center for providing excellent care and compassion to Marvin, especially all those caregivers who work the west wing. The love and kindness you showed dad will never be forgotten.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, June 8, 2024, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Louie Harris and Brother Victor Mabry officiating. Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery with full military honors by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126.
Pallbearers: Kyle Bradley, Matt Wells, Randy Wagoner, Randy Harris, Jerry Gifford, Ray Williams, and Rob Walker.
Visitation is 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, June 7, 2024, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
