Martha Sparks Blevins, age 91, of Bearskin Hollow, Morehead, passed away Sunday, July 20, 2014, at St. Joseph Mt. Sterling. She was born March 22, 1923, in Rowan County, a daughter of the late Charles and Anna Mabry Sparks. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three sons, James Albert Jr., Ronald Edwin, and Larry R. Blevins, and one granddaughter, Tammy R. Blevins. Martha's husband, James Albert Blevins, Sr., passed away February 19, 1994. Mrs. Blevins is survived by two daughters, Barbara J. and husband James Adkins of Morehead and Rebecca L. Cooley of Mt. Sterling; one son, Windell A. and wife Rita Blevins of Morehead; one brother, Vernon Sparks of Mt. Sterling; 21 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren; and numerous extended family members. Mrs. Blevins was a nursing assistant at the Life Care Center of Morehead for 29 years, a homemaker, and member of the Haldeman Church of God. She was known for her delicious cooking and thoroughly enjoyed sharing her homemade meals with everyone, especially on Sunday after church. Private graveside services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at the Wilburn Cemetery in Grahn with Brother Don Rivers officiating. Pallbearers: Michael Roe, Joe Blevins, Jimmy Puckett, Ray Howard, Jason Roe, Rodney Blevins, Allen Blevins, Ryan Moore and Jamie Blevins. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead. Visitation: Tuesday, July 22, 2014, after 5 p.m. Funeral: Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at 11 a.m. (private graveside) Interment: Wilburn Cemetery, Grahn, Kentucky
