Marquita Kay Patrick Smith, age 65, of Leavenworth, Kansas, formerly of Brown Ridge, Morehead, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2016, at the University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, Kansas. Born April 5, 1951, in Willard, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Vivian Lykins Patrick. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Georgia, Debbie, and Janet. Marquita's husband of 42 years, Loren Earl Smith, whom she married June 11, 1969, passed away June 20, 2011. She is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Loren II and Misty Smith of Lebanon, Missouri, Kelly and Helen Smith of Morehead, Patrick and Joelie Smith of Morehead, Kristian and Stephanie Smith of Leavenworth, Kansas, and 15 grandchildren, Loren III, T. J., Sampson, Michael, Rachel, Courtney, Kiley, Joshua, Nathan, Hunter, McKenzie, Connor, Melissa, Kane, and Loren. Other survivors include two sisters, Stella Sprague and husband Gary of Greenwich, Ohio, and Sarah Patrick of Carrothers, Ohio, as well as nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. Marquita was a former social worker for Pathways in Ashland and a dedicated homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother. Her family was always her main focus and she enjoyed spending special times with one and all. She also enjoyed assisting Loren in his many responsibilities with Masonic activities, her membership in the Order of the Eastern Star, traveling, and shopping. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, December 11, 2016, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Fannin officiating. Burial will follow in the Hamilton-Mawk Cemetery in Lewis County. Sons and grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Visitation is 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, December 10, 2016, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, Morehead, Kentucky.
