Marjorie Spurlock Harmon, age 81, of Orchard Road, Hillsboro, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2015, at the Pioneer Trace Nursing Home in Flemingsburg. Born April 2, 1934, in Rowan County, she was a daughter of the late John Hinton Spurlock and Lora Caudill Spurlock. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Lenville Spurlock and Vernon Dee Spurlock, and two sisters, Dorothy Spurlock and Audrey Spurlock. Her husband of 55 years, Charles Willis 'Bo' Harmon, whom she married January 3, 1959, passed away December 21, 2014. Marjorie is survived by one son, Daryl (Sue) Harmon, and two daughters, Deborah McConnel and Denise (Edgar) Dials, all of Hillsboro; eight grandchildren, Joseph McConnel; Brandon Mason; Austin, Jordan, Alexa, and Reagan Dials; Amber and Shayne Harmon; and one great granddaughter, Dixie Price. Other survivors include two brothers, Virgil (Wanda) Spurlock of Hillsboro and Kenneth Chester (Vivian) Spurlock of Goshen, Indiana; two sisters, Barbara (Bobby) Flora and Olive (Henry) Fultz, all of Hillsboro; and several nieces and nephews. Marjorie was a homemaker and a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, spending time with her family, and teaching Sunday School. She attended the Sharkey Free Will Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Saturday, April 25, 2015, at Hutton Funeral Home with Rev. Harley Sexton, Jr., and Rev. Randy Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Pallbearers: Tommy McDonald, Gary Spurlock, Kenneth Spurlock, Bobby Flora, Adam Hawkins, and Jeff Fultz.
