Marion Neil Story, age 73, of New Hope Road, Hillsboro, passed away Saturday, November 25, 2023, at U.K. Medical Center in Lexington.

He was born August 19, 1950, in Maysville, and was the son of the late U.G. "Buster" Story and Audrey L. "Billie" Hawkins Story. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Peggy Story, and three brothers, David Lynn Story, Marshall A. Story, and Nelson "Tommy" Story.

Marion is survived by his wife of 36 years, Rita Johnson Story, whom he married December 20, 1986; one daughter, Amanda Story Maynard and husband Chris of Mayslick; one son, John Story and wife Marissa of Vanceburg; and five grandchildren, Autumn, Amelia, Corbin, Madison, and Jaxon.

Other survivors include one sister, Andrea Story of Morehead; one brother, Bill Story and wife Judy of Hillsboro; sisters-in-law, Henrietta Thompson Story of Van Buren, Indiana, and Darlene Story of Bluffton, Indiana; several nieces and nephews; and other extended family and friends.

Marion was a life-long farmer and was a loving husband, father, papaw, and uncle. He enjoyed loafing at the Hillsboro Handi-Mart, sitting on the front porch, and especially spending time with his grandchildren.  Marion will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at Hutton Funeral Home with Brother Gerald Saunders officiating.  Burial will follow in Hillsboro Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Mike Hawkins, Tim Vise, Michael McClurg, Jeff McClanahan, Clarence Gallagher, and William Thompson.  Honorary pallbearers: Bill Conway, Stevie Call, Marvin Horsely, Denny Adams, Bill Vise, and Herman Shelley.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at Hutton Funeral Home, 7634 Hillsboro Road, Hillsboro, KY 41049.
