Marie Kissick Strong, age 69, of Sanford, FL, formerly of Morehead, Kentucky, died Tuesday, June 29, 2010. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, William H. Strong; her daughter and son-in-law, Valerie (Strong) and James Sanders; and grandson William, all of Atlanta, GA. Also surviving are four sisters: Mrs. Paris (Catherine) Jackson, Jr., of Morehead, KY; Mrs. George T. (Viola) Powers, of Stanford, KY; Mrs. Omar (Pauline) Brown of Morehead, KY; and Mrs. Thomas G. (Joan) Moser, of Stanford, KY; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret Sorrell Kissick and Omar Kissick, and an infant son. Marie grew up in and around Morehead, KY and graduated from Fleming County High School in 1959. She served in the United States Navy from 1963 to 1965. She moved to Hartford, CT and then to Wethersfield, CT where she lived for more than 30 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, and will be dearly missed. A Celebration of Life will be conducted 11 am Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Dr. Michael T. Powers officiating. Visitation is 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
