Obituary

Margie Marcella Owens Burgy, age 75, of Fraley Drive, Morehead, passed away Saturday, April18, 2015, at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington. Born June 16, 1939, in Rowan County, she was a daughter of the late Buddie Owens and Alene Dye Owens Moore. Margie is survived by her husband of 40 years, Jack Bronson Burgy, whom she married March 8, 1975; two sons, Robert Joseph Collins of Morehead and Michael Collins of Akron, Ohio; one daughter, Ruth Sabo of Akron, Ohio; and seven grandchildren, Marcus Sabo, Jacqueline Sabo, Alex Wright, Lukas Collins, Michael Collins, Stephanie Collins, and Louise Collins. Also surviving are four brothers, Donald Owens and Douglas Owens, both of Mansfield, Ohio, Mark Owens of Morehead, and Buddy G. Owens, of Columbia, South Carolina; four sisters, Vivian Caudill of Carter County, Patty Jo Owens of Mansfield, Ohio, Elaine Owens of Dayton, Ohio, and Sherry Adkins of Morehead; three special foster children, Connor Farmer of Morehead, Ashley Barnett of Lexington, and Mona Scott of Mt. Sterling; and several nieces and nephews. Margie retired as manager of Super 8 Motel and was a foster parent for 15 years. She was a member of Morehead Chapter 227, Order of the Eastern Star and attended Cranston Church of God. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, April 24, 2015, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Brian Farmer and Glenda Pettit officiating. Burial will follow in Clearfield Cemetery. Pallbearers: Mark Owens, Greg Owens, Buddy Gene Owens, John Owens, Jerry Peters, Jeffrey Peters, Tommy Jones, and Marcus Sabo. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Thursday, April 23, 2015, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals. Eastern Star services will be conducted 7:00 p.m. Thursday by Morehead Chapter 227, Order of the Eastern Star. Visitation: Thursday, April 23, 2015, after 5 p.m. Eastern Star Services at 7 p.m. Funeral: Friday, April 24, 2015, at 11 a.m. Interment: Clearfield Cemetery
