Obituary

Marcella Gail Summers Stevens, age 80, of Lois Lane, Morehead, passed away peacefully Monday, May 26, 2025, at Pioneer Trace Nursing and Rehab in Flemingsburg.

She was born February 11, 1945, in Frenchburg, Menifee County, and was the daughter of the late James Summers and Pauline Staton Summers. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Andrew Stevens; a son, Anthony Dirk Stevens; a grandson, Byron Scott DeHart; maternal grandparents, Albert and Ida Sorrell Staton; a brother, Larry Summers; and a special nephew, Tony Holbrook.

She is survived by four sons, William Scotty Stevens (Sheila) of Lexington, Jeffrey Andrew Stevens, Phillip Ray Stevens (Kimberly), Joey Dean Stevens, all both of Morehead; one sister, Regina Hopwood of Morehead; 14 grandchildren, Candace Keys, Bianca Jordan, Christopher Stevens, Jatana Stevens, Taylor Stevens, Adam Stevens, Marshall Stevens, Aariel Jones, Stephanie Stevens, Samara Stevens, Catherine Stevens, Ryker Stevens, Nicholas Stevens, and Brody Stevens; a host of great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and other extended family and friends.

Marcella was a homemaker and a former machine operator at Cowden's Manufacturing in Morehead. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved her family unconditionally.

She enjoyed playing card games, working puzzles, watching television, caring for her flowers, and spending time with family. Marcella will be greatly missed and always remembered with appreciation and love.

Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, May 30, 2025, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.  Funeral services will be held immediately following at 11 a.m. with Pastor Bobby Tackett, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Igo Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Stevens, Taylor Stevens, Ryker Stevens, Darren Lester Darnell, William Stevens, and Phillip Stevens.
