Obituary

Madgelene 'Madge' Stevens Blevins, age 88, of U.S. 60 East, Morehead, passed away Monday, September 14, 2015, at her residence. Born April 6, 1927, at Hayes Crossing, she was the daughter of the late Haskell C. and Myrtle Johnson Stevens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Norman, Ray, and Lee Stevens. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Oather Lee Blevins, on May 17, 1972. Madge is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Lee and Virginia Blevins of Soldier, Randy D. and Ronnia Blevins of Morehead, and Ronnie Ray and Wilma Blevins of Morehead; one daughter and son-in-law, Connie K. and Jack Barker of Morehead; 12 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and one great-great grandson. Also surviving are two sisters-in-law, Bessie Stevens of Morehead and Wilma (Bo) Stevens of East Chicago, Indiana; several nieces and nephews; extended family; and many friends. Madge was a homemaker and of the Christian faith. She enjoyed quilting, flower gardening, writing poetry, and entertaining people. Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Wednesday, September 16, 2015, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Don Rivers officiating. Burial will follow in Stevens Cemetery. Pallbearers: Justin Blevins, Jordan Barker, Rick Messer, Larry Hamm, Jeff Hamm, and John Seagraves. Honorary pallbearers: Shay Armstrong, Mark Stevens, Marty Stevens, and Melvin Stevens. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Tuesday, September 15, 2015, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
