Obituary

Madge Opal Mays Carter, age 93, of Windstar Lane, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, October 18, 2007, at the Life Care Center in Morehead. She was born January 21, 1914, in Elliott County, Kentucky, and was the daughter of the late Lee and Stella Carter Mays. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ora L. Carter, in 1978 and one sister, Jewell Caudill, in 1990. Mrs. Carter is survived by two daughters, Regena Stone and husband Bernard and Shelby Litton and husband Art, all of Morehead; four grandchildren: Anita (Mark) Hendricksen, Kevin (Lisa) Litton, Angela (Anthony) White, Sheila (David) Harman; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Thelma Scaggs of Springfield, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, quilting, and all types of needlework; but most of all she enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Church of God. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, October 20, 2007, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Greg McCarty and Roy Caudill officiating. Burial will follow in the Elliott County Memory Gardens in Sandy Hook. Pallbearers will be Kevin Litton, Anthony White, David Harman, Evan White, Mark Hendricksen, and J. B. Scaggs. Visitation is after 6 p.m. Friday, October 19, 2007, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals. Visitation: Friday, October 19, 2007, after 6 p.m. Funeral: Saturday, October 20, 2007, at 11 a.m. Interment: Elliott County Memory Gardens
