Madeline Mack
Nickell
Nov 19, 1932 — Oct 27, 2015
Madeline 'Mack' Nickell, age 82, of Howard Creek Road, Sandy Hook, passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. Born November 19, 1932, in Carter County, she was a daughter of the late George and Grace Black Nickell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Edgar, Chalmer, Elmer, Paul Junior, and Kenneth Nickell, and three sisters, Lorene Randolph, Goldie Young, and Loretta Nickell Fowler. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Mack loved life and her family and friends. She liked to tell family stories and laugh at the funny things that happened throughout her life. She liked to talk about God and all His wonders and blessings her family always had. She loved her Mommie and especially her Poppie. She learned much from her hard- working parents and reflected often on the many adventures of farm life. Mack found a neat rock when she was young. She kept it and always wondered if it was a meteorite since it looked different than any other she had ever seen. She had an interest in geology and how rocks were formed by the earth or outer space. Mack truly loved birds, especially hummingbirds, and enjoyed feeding and watching them on her porch. She also loved plants and animals. She would grow her garden and spend hours and hours cultivating and tending her family farm year after year. Mack's passion for hard work showed in her garden, home, and at her job. She was very independent and did not seek much assistance from others. There wasn't anything she felt she couldn't do. She was of the Church of God faith.
